Every individual hunts for new and exciting ways to spend their free time innovatively. It can also be sited this way that, in the world we live in, there is a hobby for everyone, we are good at, which we wish to follow extracting some time from our stipulated schedules. There are few hobbies, we could possibly write about and share it with others, like am doing mine. Am sure, there’ll be many who must be having this particular hobby which I like personally. Since am not a brainpan at mathematics or equations, my brain get easily diverted and attracted to outlines, strokes, dialogues, satire sense of humor in bubbles or call outs. I automatically get distracted to thej cartoons that peep out in from newspaper and magazine pages, comic books, as illustrations in books, advertisements and billboards. But at times, to few it appears as a few strokes of a pen or a flourish of brush, a simple line drawing with humorous dialogues. Seems like child's play, isn't it? That it certainly is not. Cartooning is a highly creative art. Though am not at all that creative too. But at times I like to draw my thoughts on paper. Since my maternal side is too heavily blessed with a sense of Creativeness and Cartooning, the percentage has reduced a bit, before it could reach me.
These days I had been going crazy to have my few cartoons ready and share it with you all, but couldn’t get time. But then there, there is saying, where there is a will, there is a way. It suddenly clicked to my mind, that there is a blogger in my acquaintance who has a complete blog on Cartoon Strips. I thought of asking her, how she could manage it out, uploading 4 cartoons in a week. I shot the mail to her, enquiring if she made all these cartons herself. And just within an hour, this lady, whom I recognize as Swathi Di, sorted out all my queries with the reply that TOONDOO can help you.
I couldn’t believe my eyes, when I actually checked out this particular website. The tagline for Toondoo.com is World's fastest way to create cartoons! Toondoo lets its members create comic strips with pre-built or uploaded images and text easily. This is a flash based application. The website was launched by Jambav, an Indian company, backed by Adventnet (parent company of online office application service, Zoho ).
All we need to do is drag-n-drop the characters on the canvas, change backgrounds, add speech bubbles or even upload your own pictures. Everything is packed inside a very intuitive Flash interface that even a three year old can get started in minutes.
Like Youtube videos, the viewers can rate and comment on our cartoons or embed them in blogs.
No matter I have discovered the application li’l late but may be with ToonDoo comic creator in town, professional cartoon artists might have felt the heat.
